As offshore renewable energy continues its rapid development one of the biggest challenges is reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). In conjunction with Sandia National Laboratories our advanced hull and mooring design and analysis tools are being adapted to develop new designs which will significantly reduce construction, integration and installation costs of offshore wind facilities. The ATLANTIS project Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) is one example which would result in substantially lower installation costs.
